Good Morning! I love picking names. I have a few sites I use. 20,000names.com is fun. I also do a search for surnames depending on ethnicity. Sometimes I pop open the white pages of the phone book or use the name data base at my job. It’s interesting what people name their kids. I also use city names, street names whatever works ;P

I’m a big name nerd and love choosing the perfect names for my character, so thanks for posting these sites!

I usually rely on behindthename.com and nameberry.com – the former for objective data (origin, meaning), and the latter for more subjective opinions. Both are helpful for different reasons.

(I, uh, POSSIBLY maybe SOMETIMES name jerky minor characters after people who have wronged me in the past…but I won’t confirm or deny that here….)

Thanks for sharing a couple more name places to add to my list.

I know what you mean about “jerky minor characters” and people who have wronged you. Understood. I would never do that…uh, right?
