An imagination is an amazing thing

I am always amazed by the things people come up with, even what I come up with at times. As a writer, I am constantly creating a story world for my characters and the characters themselves. It is such fun to let my mind mull over a new story idea and then start putting together the puzzle pieces that will eventually make up a story.

And I like to be challenged by writing in different romance sub-genres and time periods. I’ve written historical romances involving a pirate (Hawke’s Lady), medieval knights (Maggie Mine and Great Scottish Devil), and cowboys (Whiskey’s Rebellion and If You Loved Me). I’ve played with vampires and fairies, although those stories aren’t finished yet. I’ve written futuristic romances (Law & Order and Royal Directive) and many contemporary stories. My mind never seems to rest. There are always characters waiting to get my attention, waiting to have their stories told. I love what I do!

When I go out and about in the world, I look for interesting things and other ways people use their imagination. I went to the Garden Show this past weekend and the landscape designers that create the most amazing exhibits each year really outdid themselves this time. The theme was movies this year. Here are a few pictures I took of what a designer can do in a basic large empty, boring space. I’m truly awed by them all. The themed gardens are from Avitar, Up, and Jurassic Park.
